Mowery Clinic is looking for a full-time nurse (RN or LPN) for our new physician in Gastroenterology. This position’s primary responsibility is communicating between patients and physicians, including answering and returning phone calls and scheduling appointments and appropriate procedures as requested by the physician. This person must be detail oriented as they will be entering patient data accurately in their records so doctors and insurance companies can refer to them. A qualified applicant must have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers in a positive and professional manner. Requires initiative, time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload. Must be a dependable team player with strong organizational and computer skills. Previous medical office experience in Gastroenterology is preferred, but not required.
May be required to perform the following duties:
- Answer phone calls and telephone triage
- Medication refills
- Schedule appointments or further testing
- Perform data entry and abstract patient charts
- Room Patients & clean exam rooms
- Measure and record vital signs
- Procedure coding
- Prior authorizations
- Entering outpatient orders
Daytime hours, competitive salary, and excellent benefits. This position is a full-time position at 36 hours per week. Hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am – noon.
