Dr. Westbrook is a fellowship trained, board-certified sports medicine physician. As a non-operative musculoskeletal specialist, he offers injection therapy, fracture care, rehabilitation and physical therapy protocols to treat injuries. In addition, Dr. Westbrook uses current musculoskeletal ultrasound technology to assist in diagnosis and treatment strategies. With the use of ultrasound technology, he is able to accurately and efficiently administer treatment.
Dr. Westbrook provides new cutting-edge technology treatment options in the form of minimally invasive procedures to help soft tissue injuries including percutaneous dry needling “PPN” and percutaneous needle tenotomy “PNT”. Combined with skillful ultrasound techniques, Dr. Westbrook is able to use PNT to help rid patients of the pain caused by various tendinopathies (ie. Tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, Achilles tendinitis, patellar tendinitis, calcific tendinitis, etc.). Percutaneous needle tenotomy helps patients and athletes quickly return to their previous level of function, while at the same time eliminating their pain by precisely targeting and gently removing damaged tissue, and all without the risks recovery of typical surgery. Dr. Westbrook is one of only a few sports medicine physicians in the North Central Kansas region that provides this non-surgical treatment option for his patients.
